I had to order this replacement chuck for my delta scroll saw. The screw in the chuck broke on mine and was listed as back-ordered until may 2008 on deltas web site. I did not see any improvements to this chuck and will have to see if the screw breaks on this one.Falling apart - Poor craftsmanship

I teach woodworking in a private high school and the students get lots of use from our Delta scroll saws. We are always changing blades or removing the blade from the top chuck to make an interior cut and I just bought two new chucks to make things go easier and my old chucks (which were Quicksets also) were broken anyway. One of the chucks already came apart and is broken and the second one is nothing but problems. I have never had as much trouble as I am having now. I have actually asked to get a Hegner scroll saw that I know I can depend on. I cannot reccommend this item to anyone and feel that they will have a great experience. It seems to be hit or miss with it because I have had better experiences in the past but still not great.

I'm sure this throat plate is fine for the correct saw, but has poor lableing. I had to return it. Listing it as the insert for 'Delta Contractors Saws' is an error. It fits right-tilt contractors saws, not left tilt. The left-tilt contractors saw throat plate is listed as the one for left-tilt Delta Unisaw, but is the right item for their left tilt contractors saw as well.

I use this on a harbor freight metal band saw, much better that the blades from harbor freight. long lasting saws straight. Cheaper blades do nether.
